Since America's beginning, Americans are moving forward. Public transport plays an important role in the development of this country and the unity of citizens. In his book "Separate Highways", the author Tom Lewis leads the reader through the construction of the times and the results from them (good and bad). Lewis believes that Interstate is a physical characteristic of the United States that shows "all our glory and our know-how, all our visions and myopic eyes" (xiv).
