INTRODUCTION This article will cover the identity, body image and politics of hair in African American culture. It discusses life experiences of some African-American women, and not all African-American women are available. Nonetheless, the body image and hair politics is a prominent feature of African American culture. As others have seen, the image of the body is usually understood as a psychological image of the human body (Featherstone 2010).

Body image of African-American women - The body image of African-American women is an important aspect in understanding eating disorders. The problem of body image is important in the etiology and treatment of eating disorders and obesity (Smith, Thompson, Raczynski and Hilner, 1997; Thompson, 1997). The structure of the body image reflects how satisfied human beings are in their bodies. Body image is multidimensional structure. It includes ethnicity, socio-economic status, age, and emotional and attitude factors.

The purpose of this study was to investigate general and cultural factors related to the recognition of body images of college students of African-American women. A total of 124 African American college students participated in the history of black universities and completed the following courses: African Self-Awareness (ASC) Scale, Skin Color Satisfaction Scale (SCSS), Body Mass Index (BMI) And some body image measurements. . At the same time, the results of multiple regression analysis show that all factors together make for a significant change in the degree of satisfaction of the body image. Specifically, the SCSS explains the significant changes in three body image dimensions (ie appearance assessment, satisfaction to a specific body area, internalization of socio-cultural information of the appearance), human skin color . The higher the degree of satisfaction is, the more positive and the inner view related to the human body image
