Bodily distortion disorder (BDD), formerly known as metabolism, is characterized by one or more concerns about defects in perceived defects and / or physical appearance. These defects and / or defects are not observed by other people or appear to be different from others. The disease is also characterized by repetitive behaviors and psychological behaviors depending on their perception of their personal images. These actions include, but are not limited to, mirror inspection, overcombing, skin picking, and appearance comparisons with other appearances.

Muscle distortion disorder (MDD) is a physical distortion disorder (BDD). It is commonly referred to as "reverse anorexia" or "hunger" by the media. It includes a prejudice of insufficient muscle or lean meat (when this is not the case). Sports wrestling and fitness gym are hotbeds of muscle malformations. There is a subtle relationship between normal "fitness" and muscle malformation. Subculture is declining from society, but it is explained that MDD is usually the same as fitness, so separation is important. A similar situation exists when describing the differences between people with BDD and those who do not have BDD seeking cosmetic surgery. People who have normal fitness do not have a distorted image of the body. Although normal fitness is a strict lifestyle, unlike MDD, it is not excessive muscle concentration. It does not cause serious pain or disturb people's lives

Bodily disturbance disorder (BDD) is another mental disorder classified as obsessive-compulsive disorder and related disorder. People with BDD will focus on one or more non-existent or minor defects or physical appearance defects that may include a body shape. In order to be diagnosed as BDD, people must be involved in repetitive actions related to emergency situations (such as examination and warranty exploration) and must lead to functional impairment. However, if the individual's body image is only associated with eating disorders, only eating disorders are diagnosed. It is not uncommon for patients to suffer from eating disorders and BDD (the latter focusing on other problems other than weight or body fat).
