Body Art Regulations

Body art is an invasive process that punctures or damages the skin. Pollution or pathogens can penetrate the body by penetrating the skin. Improper hygiene practices such as inappropriately disinfected instruments and lack of aerial spores may result in infection, spreading infections such as hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

The aim of Boulder County Body Art Regulations is to carry out the safety and sanitary practice of body art, the safe and healthy physical environment of body art, and the safety and hygiene of the equipment used in the body art program.

According to the current law (Colorado state Body Art Law 25-4-2103, parental guardian's consent) it is not feasible to carry out body art for those under the age of 18 without the written consent of the parent or legal guardian It is a criminal offense. Permanent make-up including micro-expanding is regarded as a kind of body art in Boulder County. A permanent makeup artist must obtain Boulder County body art license and permission from the Colorado Regulatory Authority (DORA).

Colorado excludes ear holes from the definition of body art. Currently, piercing pier is not subject to public health and safety management. Ears penetration of the examined body can be obtained from approved body art facility

For the purposes of Section 6.2 of the Body Art Rules, as long as the context requires, body art practitioners are employed in the body art practitioner apprenticeship scheme established by the department under section 6.1 of the Body Art Rules. The term "person" needs to mean "body art practitioner's trainee" and the term "body art practitioner's driver's license" means "an apprenticeship license of a body art practitioner". All body art practitioners should wear clean clothes according to hygiene practices and maintain high degree of personal cleanliness when doing body art activities. A person applying for a body art practitioner's license must certify to the department that he / she has complied with all training, disclosure, consent and educational requirements of this body art regulation. . The department issues or renews the license before "actual licenses for practitioners". Whenever a body art practitioner or operator does not meet the requirements of the department and when complying with the notice issued by the department under this body art rule, the director of public health can postpone the subject of the art practicing license . The art practitioner or body art facility licenses the subject operator so that the subject matter practitioner is satisfied until the thematic art practitioner or operation obeys the notification order.
