In the movie version of Ultima's Bless Me, Franklin appears to be heavily influenced by the cultural aspect of this book. This is realized by soundtracks of native culture and natural repetitive shots, often used as transitions between specific scenes. Franklin effectively caught Antonio 's innocence and curiosity by using many subjective shots throughout the movie. And it shows a reaction to almost all of Antonio. This includes the death of Rupito and his response to the market in the town. With almost every subjective shot, Antonio is casting doubt on what he is looking at and has the same expression that he does not know what to do. However, in return, this left Antonio with great emotions (curiosity) throughout the film. And it made his character a little bit old as his feelings were seldom explained explicitly. Antonio also shows that he is not the hero. Franklin is to maintain the true character of Mary in the film to correct malicious behavior, often to talk about God and Virgin Mary, use strict priests to highlight the threat of hell by giving corporal punishment I grabbed the importance of religion. Franklin is also working hard to make a smooth transition. There is a sudden cut during the day and sometimes there is no contextual clue so it is difficult to tell how much time passed between each scene and the whole movie. In that book, the reader can know that Antonio slowly starts thinking about myself and is beginning to grow into a person. The film was not effective in demonstrating this growth by showing how antonio is thinking about the situation, but it does not clearly show his feelings. This is true of everywhere in the movie, the most important features of the story are outdated and surrounded by less important letters. This is obviously dynamic.
A summary of "Please congratulate me", "Please bless Ultima", Ultima is a mature Mexican-American boy trying to solve many of his problems, life and death, good and evil concerns I will tell you the story of Antonio Mares. Ultima living with Antonio became his guard and teacher. Antonio learned that some of the power of the world is different from his beliefs about Catholic faith. Ultima told Antonio, "The tragic result of life can be overcome through magical powers of the human heart." Ultima showed to Antonio how to experience the magic of life with his mind instead of eyes. In Ultima's "Blessing Me", Ultima is an old lady who stayed with our hero Antonio and was invited to spend the rest of my life with the Marez family. But does Ultima, a witch, or a woman have controversy? Ultima calls herself a candela, a person who uses herbs and old customs to heal others, but some of the books call her bullja, a Spanish for the witch. Ultima has been called a witch many times in the novel, but he does not condemn, deny, or tolerate it.
There are Antonio's sister Deborah and Teresa Mare. The theme of the book is "Blessing Me, Ultima". That stands out that Antonio always wants to know what Ultima thinks will be able to answer his future, and what kind of person he is. It becomes. Another theme is tradition and culture. He constantly asks Antonio how to inherit which ethics when he grows up and he is faced with the choice of mother or father's tradition. The main idea of this work is the maturing experience from Antonio's childhood to adolescence and how it affects the traditions of parents and communities. What makes this book stand out is a different way Antonio learns from Ultima about the connection between nature, man and nature. It has a mixture of darkness and mystery, innocence, the opposite of good and evil. It will be fun if cultural reading appeals to you. Quoting from Debra Black
