In 2003 after the blackout in New York City, the New York Times reconsidered past blackouts. The blackout in 1965 was "good blackout ... mainly cooperation and overwhelming cheers". The "serious blackout" in 1977 was "the broad definition of robbery and arson in the poorer areas of the city." why? Do you think that modern people are more prepared for power outage emergencies? why? Let's consider the recent northeastern blizzard experience that occurred in late October from New Jersey to Massachusetts. There was no electricity, more than 2 million people died. Do you think that this will affect the response of the population if power outages occur due to bad weather rather than grid failures?
