Biometrics is used in various places, there is a bright future. Coca-Cola recently replaced the time card system with a manual scanner. Fingerprint scanners are used in many states in the United States. They are used to track social welfare fraud. In Cook County, Illinois, an iris pattern recognition system is used to ensure that the right people are released from prison. ATM machines are equipped with finger scanners to prevent theft and fraud in Indiana State (Jain, 2005). The world leading credit card company uses finger scanning equipment to protect credit card information and protect consumers from credit card fraud.

One of the main differences between biometrics and biometric authentication is that, in real-time, "real-time" biometrics are relatively easy to match with stored biometric templates. For authentication, biometrics is used as part of a biometrics protocol including the use of standardized authentication procedures such as authentication, encryption protocol, identity assertion, and credential lifecycle management. Using biometric authentication standards such as the IEEE 2410 Biometric Open Protocol Standard (BOPS) means that organizations do not deploy biometric systems that are not accidentally suited as the latest authentication solutions. Biometrics is a mature solution, organizations may deploy solutions that seems to be surface authentication, but in fact it is a recognition framework that does not meet the requirements.

There are two general use cases in biometrics: identification and authentication. Biometrics is usually applied to situations where you answer the question "Who are you?" And the organization needs to identify someone. The organization gets biometrics from an individual and then attempts to correctly identify that person by searching the biometric library. This is what happens at American airport (and many other airports). It captures your iris and fingerprint and tries to identify you based on the records they already have in the data store

There are two main aspects of biometrics: biometrics and biometric authentication. Biometrics is where processes identify and identify real-world entities. Identity refers to a specific person, and an individual and an identifier are represented by an identity. There may be a specific code in the identity of the person, and some data such as surname, date of birth are given. Organizations around the world need a personal ID to search for existing files on the database. This is necessary because this is the process of searching for existing matches from millions of available data.
