Biography of William Dampier

William Dampier was born in 1651 at a tenant farm in East Cocha, England (Danpier's "Pirates Memoirs" 15). Initially, his parents asked him to go to school to read Latin. His parents passed away soon, and he left with his guardian. His guardian sent him to the school for composition and arithmetic. The first British explorer was an adventurer named William Dampier who landed near King Sound on the North West Coast in 1688. Captain James Cook followed Dampier in 1770. After wrapping New Zealand, Cook went to the west for Australia. Toward the land near Cape Everard in the southeast corner of Australia, he turned to the north and along the coastline. In 1688, William Dampier became the first British explorer to land on the coast of Australia.
