In order to explain the devastating effects of war, Kurt Vonnegut harassed Billy Pilgrim's post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Billy Pilgrim shows many of the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder through the story. Vonnegut uses five negative examples of these slaughter and explains an example of a horrible destructive war. The example in this book is similar to the real life experience of veterans including Vonnegut and eventually appears in a very effective anti-war novel.
