The story of this book starts with Arjuna's misunderstanding as to why he is right to take action in battle. When Prince Arjuna stood on the tank on the battlefield, he recognized his enemies, his cousin, teacher and friend. Arjuna born in a warrior loses compassion and interest in fighting enemies. He looked at Sir Krishna and raised a question as to how he fought with people to be worshiped.

Krishna replied: "You talk of grief and insight to people other than sorrow; but knowledgeable people do not mourn the dead or livelihood" (Miller p 31)

Krishna explained Arjuna that battle is his sacred duty, because warriors who carry out their duties guide them.

Krishna believes that the most important way is loyalty to him. Krishna explained to Arjuna that the only way to him is to give, and all other ways were on the way to dedication.
