Morris Logan Hill (92 years old) of Boonville - Meadow Creek Community died at home on Tuesday 26th July, 2005. He was born on James Robert and Fannie Pugh Logan Hill on July 31, 1912. He is the fourth generation of James Jackson and Lucy Floyd Hill, and Pionis County 's pioneer is from Anson County, New England. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1929. He studied at the Mississippi State University and served in the US Marine Corps from 1940 to 1941. He entered the US Army in 1942 and fought with the 3rd infantry division of the 83rd Division, 329th regiment at the front of Europe. During World War II, he was decorated with an outstanding British Cross by the General Omar Bradley and the British Field Marshal Bernardo Montgomery. As a company commander, Captain Hill helped weaken German breakthroughs in Belgium during the famous campaign. Capt.Hill won a bronze prize including Oak Leaf Cluster, former band of Pearl Harbor, ribbon of CIB and EAMETO, and 5 battle stars.

In 1890, Abraham and Alfred Ness built a new frame school building across the road and established the Old Creek Baptist Church at the old school.
