As most people try to find similarities between Homer and Beowulf's roles, I prefer to raise their differences. It is difficult to find similarities between them, finding the differences between them is a big challenge to separate them from each other and make them unique. Well, first of all, we have to clarify our understanding of Homer's magnificent heroes. Such characters encountered four different stages in their lives. One means Arete, which means excellence, and the other is Hubris, which is proud.

In Homer and the epic "Iliad" of "Beowulf", each epic has two heroes. Achilles is "Iliad" and Beowulf's self-titled epic. These poems meet certain requirements and are called epic. In these two poems, heroic behavior governs the destiny of the country and people. Heroic behavior reflects the value of age. Finally, the hero interacts with supernatural creatures and events. "Iliad" was written a few centuries before Beowulf, but there are many similarities between heroes, actions and fate.

Epic heroes, at least in Homer's tradition, are often semi-gods, or parts of God. Unlike Hercules and Achilles, Beowulf is not drawn as a god with biological parents, but he is often said to have the blessing of God. For example, when Grendel's mother hit Beowulf with a sword it did not penetrate. The narrator said that the armor of Beowulf was too strong for a sword, but its power was brought directly by the grace of God. The magnificent hero's weapon is often a famous heirloom or sacred gift. Beowulf's sword Hrunting is a powerful and ancient heirloom that Unferth gave him, and Unferth does not shake it.

Heroes like Superman have much in common with Beowulf even after more than a few centuries. Today's superheroes can behave like medieval Beowulf. However, many modern heroes use their wisdom rather than the power like Beowulf like Batman. Even modern heroes with much in common with Beowulf are different because they are social heroes of different value from the world that produced Beowulf, so it is different. JRR Beowulf scholar Tolkien solved the difference between Beowulf and Lord of the Rings' modern hero directly. Modern heroes like Luke Skywalker and Frodo Baggins are heroic because they reject power and refuse to fight. Beowulf 's echo is still heard, but the modern world has its own hero type reflecting modern priorities.
