I oppose the ability of science to prove that I believe in God is absurd. Science does this by showing that it can not answer even simple questions about where the law came from and how they are formed. If science can not even answer this simple question, how does it answer more difficult questions? Science can not answer the question of whether God exists or not, so it can not make belief in God unreasonable. Since the scope of science is limited, I have questions that I can not answer.

Hume's claim is intended to show that faith in God is literally irrational. It is beyond the realm of reason. Hume does not support faith, but points to the status of God.
