Bayou Folk, A Collection of Louisiana Stories by Kate Chopin

Kate Chopin is no longer a silent woman writer whose self-consciousness is deeply rooted in the south. Chopin will create the world for her role; her inspiration for these worlds arises from her own life experience in the south of the late nineteenth century. Chopin's roots and the time she lived were historical and had a great impact on the writing style and theme of her story. She was also one of the first American writers who truly wrote about the hidden lives of women, sexual orientation, and the complicated relationship between women and husbands.

Kate Chopin depicts the life and etiquette of New Orleans Creole and Bayou in Louisiana state in the collection of short stories such as Bayou Folk (1894) and Aad in Aadie (1897). She made them famous Jewish New England, and his work Chopin knew and praised. However, the novel "Awakening" (1899) is her main work that she awakens the spirit and eroticism of married women from the numbness of marriage and social customs.
