In June, 1812, the United States announced several reasons for starting a war with England, the main reason being that the US Navy was impressed with the use of the British Navy in the high seas. When announced, the US held the initiative under President John Madison, started a series of attacks on Canada, and burned off government buildings. The British military eventually repelled these attacks, started to attack the United States in the summer of 1814, and fired in Washington, DC.

Battle of New Orleans: Before the end of peace in December 1814, the British started an effort to occupy a part of South Louisiana including the precious city of New Orleans. The famous New Orleans battle took place on January 8, 1815, a few weeks after the signing of the Gent Treaty. However, the Convention stipulates that hostile acts will continue until both parties ratify the agreement, this situation did not occur until February 1815. The US military was a subordinate militia and pirates under the guidance of Andrew Jackson who decisively defeated veterans of the Napoleonic war. Britain lost about 700 people, 1,400 people were injured, America lost 8 people and 13 people were injured. Victory has no obvious effect on the outcome of war, but it is a major trust builder of the US military and the country. Andrew Jackson became a national hero when his army defeated 6,000 British soldiers near New Orleans.

After conquering Creek, Jackson became a national hero who beat England in the fight of New Orleans in 1815.
