Battle of Ideals: USA and the Borderlands

America and Frontier In the second largest country in Europe there were many discussions and controversies, and the news shows us all these thoughts about going there. Recent Ukrainian turmoil caused many problems in the Cold War. Russia tied the Ukraine to the Crimean Peninsula, scared the Western countries, especially the United States, adopted the Soviet old containment policy, and adversely affected the "eastern district" and did not spread its influence.

We will compare these similarities and differences and read the recent world border studies to understand the history of frontiers as research and methodology areas. The topics we explore include bordering at different times and places; ethnic and ethnic groups that cooperate and contradict internal, regional or international boundaries; and include border buildings . We will also discuss different legal systems and different power relations, immigration, citizenship, human rights and sovereignty, nationalism, transnationalism and internationalism, opening and closing of the borders, and different meanings and locations of the border in the border area. For your ultimate challenge, you will write an article on page 10 on how your current research topic (your 570, 580, thesis project) will fit into the border area.
