Orcas, or Orcinus orca, is a toothy whale, the largest member of the dolphin family. It is very sociable and consists of family families. A orca has a long and round body with a big back in the middle of its back. Their black body has white spots near the bottom and eyes.
Orcases eat fish, salmon, birds, marine mammals. Like a dolphin, killer whales use echo location - pop the sound from objects to determine their position - use a series of treble clicks to stun the prey
The size and intensity of the killer whale makes it the fastest marine mammal that can reach that speed over 35 mph!
Members of killer sheath often eat together. Sometimes pushes many fish to a certain area, then alternately feeds or beaches (slides from the water to the shore) to scare seals and penguins, and other killer whales are waiting to eat
The current official orca population of the world is not known, but it may be over 50,000 people.
There are heaven in the sea of the world, the most common are the North Pole and the South Pole. A orca is commonly seen on the west coast of America and Canada. A orca is found in the coastal waters and the open ocean
A orca is a highly social animal that moves in a group called a pod. Pods usually consist of 5 to 30 whales, but some pods can be combined with over 100 whales. Orcas establishes a social hierarchy while the pod is led by women. These animals are thought to communicate in complex form from one sheath to another sheath in different dialects (slightly different languages).
Orca's gestation period is 13 to 16 months. The calves are born in the fall, weigh near 400 pounds and the length is up to 7 feet. Calves will be with their mother for at least two years.
Keet is a bull orca born at SeaWorld San Antonio on February 2, 1993. The word "Keet" means orca in Tlingit language. His parents are Kalina and Kotar. The current size of Keet is about 19 feet (5.8 meters) and weighs 7,000 pounds (3,200 kilograms). Keet is also known as Grandbaby Shamu. His mother was the first killer whale bred and raised under the care of humans. When I was 1 year and 8 months, my mother moved to SeaWorld Orlando in Florida to support the next pregnancy. Key brother Keto was born in 1995. His aunt Katerina moved from Ocean World, Ohio. In 1995, his father, Cotal died. On 5 May 1999, Katerina died. Five months later, two women, Kayla and Winnie, moved. In November 1999, he was transferred to Sea World, San Diego, California. So he met his brother Keto and his playmate Sumar. Three whales were moved to Ocean Ocean World in February 2000
Corky is a 53 - year - old female orca of SeaWorld San Diego. She is the longest captive killer whale in the world, the largest female orcas in captivity. She is currently the only survivor captured by the northern residents. About 4 years old, Colky was arrested on 11 December 1969 at Pendar Harbor on the coast of British Columbia. From there, she went to the Marine Land in the Pacific Ocean and lived with the other three orca. But two arrested killer whales died in three years and spend most of their time at Seaworld. Corky got pregnant seven times, there were four births from 1977 to 1985 (two failures in 1986 and 1987), but no one survived during the first two months.
