In this article I will first explain what Baroque art is. Baroque art is an art that makes use of the effect between brightness and darkness. I will start with three pictures in Baroque era. The picture we discuss for the first time in the Baroque era is Pieta of Annibale Carracci. Pieta is a sculpture or painting of the Virgin Mary holding Jesus Christ after being crucified. This special Pieta was completed by Italian artist Boniba, Annibale Carracci. Pieta of Annibale depicts her son Jesus Christ holding after the Virgin Mary is crucified. Annibale used his light for this picture. He placed the Virgin Mary along with Jesus as he lighted his own painting and made him Jesus the hero. Annibale painted Maria with a soft blue as opposed to the lightness of Jesus Christ
