At Havana Club, choreographer Pedro Lewis makes use of the highly addictive rhythms of conga, rumba, mambo, and tea. As "masterpiece" in Chicago's solar era, Carmen.maquia of Gustavo Ramirez-San Sano is a modern Picasso contemporary piece about Bizette's classic opera, passionate gypsy. Energetic and sensual choreography stays in rivets from beginning to end, combining contemporary dance, Pasodorubu of Spain, and nodding of flamenco.
