Authority and Conformity: The Demon Hidden Within

Why did I survive? Why did I slaughter thousands of innocent people? How does this happen? That is just a nightmare. It is impossible to be true. Some people feel embarrassed because of their behavior and difficult decisions they have to make between survival and other survival. Compliance may show some indifference to others. Many believers believe that "if I can do this, they can do it" and expect higher authority to cope with social problems. Compliance means to blindly trust social leaders without casting doubt on authority. When becoming a social problem, this blind trust can be dangerous. Compliance can be bred as "It is not my problem". Granting authority to a leader means, eventually, neglecting social justice because they are responsible and they should act on it. Compliance can protect individuals from anger feelings and the necessity of social injustice

Compliance is expressed in society's traditions and norms. Consistency creates prejudice or keeps prejudice against one person by seeking acceptance in society. Thus, following existing attitudes and traditions may be the source of most prejudice. It is a very strong bias motive. Research shows that people entering prejudicial areas show an increase in prejudice against behavior. Conversely, those who moved to places with less prejudice show that the degree of prejudice is decreasing.

Respect your ancestors. In this case, a truly ethical person obeys its authority and wishes to obey the group's standards. I hope to play my part in my team. Loyalty and respect are extremely important. Stories, symbols, and traditions convey authority within the group.
