Authentic Champagne of Northern France

Usually, when people think about champagne, they associate it with sparkling wine. However, authentic champagne can only be produced in the small champagne region in northern France dating back to the 18th century. Offering the world's most famous wine, it is champagne AOC in northern France. Champagne AOC is the 48th parallel line in the world closest to the grape growing limit. Champagne contains only one AOC, but Burgundy contains more than 110 AOCs. The AOC of Burgundy covers an area of ​​8,450 hectares, equivalent to champagne, covering 31,000 hectares, only one AOC.

The champagne region in northern France produces the finest sparkling wine in the world (see CHAMPAGNE). Other luxury sparkling wines are produced in Loire, Burgundy, Savoie. In the Rhone Valley, high-quality red wines such as Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Cote Rotie, Hermitage, rare delicate white wines such as Condrieu and Chateau Grillet, the most famous roses such as Tavel are produced. Alsace is located in the eastern part of the Rhine valley and produces high quality white wines from the Riesling grape varieties, Gewürz Traminer, Muscat, Silverana. The champagne region is centered around Ai and Epernay, the northernmost wine region in France. A few miles north of Belgium there is beer, not wine.
