Auburn's Sol - Auburn University solar team - recently participated in the 2005 North American Solar Challenge. On 27th July 2005, Auburn 's car ranked 12th in the finish line of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Auburn SOL is the only solar car in Alabama, and the project consists of four teachers and over 20 undergraduates. Warhawk Flying Team (WEFT) - a student organization consisting of pilots and non-pilots. Most team members are experts in flight management, aviation management or aerospace engineering. WEFT is competing with other flight teams at the Safety and Flight Evaluation Meeting (SAFECON) supported by the National Association of School Unions of Schools (NIFA).
