It can be said that the attitude towards the elderly is quite different from the attitude of different cultures and the treatment of elderly people. From Europe, Asia, Middle East, America, Africa and Australia, community attitudes toward the elderly are completely different from each other. "Attitude" can be defined as "psychological opinion or tendency" (Wilkes & Krebs, 1987), or as a content based on psychology "a relatively stable tendency to respond to concepts and events in learning and evaluation methods" When used (Gerrig & Zimbardo, 2002).
Age discrimination is individual discrimination based on age. Age discrimination is a combination of three interrelated factors: prejudice against the elderly, the elderly and the aging process, discriminatory practices against the elderly, institutional practices that perpetuate the fixed ideas of the elderly and policies. Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto studied about the influence of human speech, thought, emotion on body material for 15 years. Dr. Emoto measured the response of water to text, music, prayers and blessings over 10,000 samples. He is talking to research assistants, playing music for them, and even praying monks to pray on the water
Studies of attitudes related to age in the United States have consistently discovered that negative attitudes take precedence over positive attitudes toward the elderly due to their appearance and behavior. Posner (1997) found "indignation and insult" in American society in his research on old age and old age. The stereotypes of elderly people seen in age discrimination, discrimination and devaluation have a major influence on the elderly and influence their self esteem, emotional health and behavior. After listening to the useless stereotypes of old people repeatedly, old people may start to feel that they are a member of society they do not contribute to. They may start to perceive themselves just as other people in society watch them. The study also shows that when the elderly listen to these stereotypes about their incompetence and uselessness, they perform worse performance in terms of abilities and memories; in fact, these stereotypes are self-contained It becomes a prophecy.
