Attitudes Toward Love in French literature

In the story of "liars of nightingale", the author Marie de France fell in love with another knight and saw an unhappy marriage despite wanting to be an older hostess. With him. Their love represented by Nightingale was controlled by her husband and eventually was killed and her husband revealed her feelings. But even in their misfortune, both women and knights will endure their suffering, promise to keep social rules, and only distance can love each other.

French writer and thinker Philip Aries discusses the historical period of Western attitude towards death in his pioneering work "Western attitude towards death: medieval to the present". This book is one of the most influential intellectuals in the history of western death, and many critics and scholars are also welcomed. Philippe Aries describes four consecutive periods in which these attitudes evolve and change (1). For this purpose, Aries uses literature such as ancient texts, romantic stories, and novels to explore and search the attitudes of people of all ages / era he studies. This method has been criticized (2). But it seems to be the best way to exploit history and to find the beliefs and attitudes of people who passed away hundreds of years ago.

Research on time attitudes is rapidly growing. New concepts emerged, literature has been organized since the 1970s. This study investigated the differences and similarities between the two major cultural groups of Canada's population, France and English. The basic purpose is to evaluate the extent to which cultural variables explain differences in attitudes over time, not social class variables such as age.
