Evidence of weight lifting can be traced back to the origin of humans. Early in the cave paintings and scrolls there is proof of weight lifting. Originally expressed as strength, competition, and functional training, weightlifting has gone through history. It has played a new role in the modern world; sports training. Sports has new emphasis on speed, strength, and flexibility, weight lifting is more popular than ever. Unfortunately, young athletes often hurt themselves and exert more harm than good.

High school students need special training of sports to prevent injuries. Regular adjustments that begin before the official sports season can prevent many injuries. Normally damage will occur when an athlete suddenly increases the duration, intensity or frequency of his or her activity. Young athletes who are distorted at the beginning of the season should gradually raise their activity level and slowly return to higher level fitness. As many young athletes concentrate on one sport and are training throughout the year, the doctor sees an increase in injury abuse. American College of Orthopedic Surgeons will work with STOP Sports Injury to help educate parents, coaches, and athletes about ways to prevent undue use of injuries. Specific techniques to prevent damage caused by abuse are as follows.

Sports trainers are specially trained to prevent emergencies and care for, especially in the sports population. They can perform lifesaving skills while taking into account the correct way that exercises may require equipment that may not be familiar to other healthcare professionals.
