From September 2013 to May 2014, we conducted a series of policy surveys for eight California four-year universities and eight university campus students (Non-Smoking Policy [n = 217], Non-Smoking Policy [ Please specify n = 230], outdoor smoking area [n = 429], or law of California state [n = 217] The smoking policy prohibits the use of all cigarettes throughout the site, Smoking is prohibited throughout the site; campuses designated for outdoor areas have specific smoking places Non-policy schools prohibit indoor smoking 20 feet away from the entrance to the university campus In compliance with California State law In addition to changing policies, we chose campuses from all provinces to reflect the social and political differences around California.
Students recruit from areas with high traffic volume on campus and use the interception method to reach out. The students completed 59 questionnaires on passive smoking and exposure to individual smoking, smoking on-campus, and support for smoking restrictions.
"In the past seven days I have been exposed to cigarette smoke from other people on campus (yes / no)." We assessed the problem of cigarette smoking. In the past seven days, I saw people smoking on campus. (Yes, No)
We evaluated the intent of smoking on the campus of students and said, "I will smoke (or smoke) on campus for the next 6 months." "For the purpose of smoking on campus, students' responses are classified as" very likely "or" possible ". The problem is that if I evaluate student's support for outdoor smoking restrictions, it means "rules on smoking outdoors is a good thing".
Using the χ 2 test, we compared responses of policy types (California law, designated outdoor areas, no smoking and no cigarettes) for all four questions.
The main need is to protect non smokers from being exposed to secondhand smoke. A new field of tobacco control policy is outdoor environment, and passive smoking is not usually a problem. However, the moral legitimacy of outdoor smoking ban is convincing and endorsed by international law. The central argument is that an outdoor ban is to reduce smoking to mimic children's normal behavior, thereby reducing absorption of smoking. In some cases (such as stadiums or other compact places), outdoor smoking policy may reduce the impact of passive smoking on health 1, there is the possibility of reducing fire and garbage 2.
"In the past seven days I have been exposed to cigarette smoke from other people on campus (yes / no)." I rated student smoking problems on campus. "Last 7 days So, I saw people smoking on campus (yes / no) "We will use this statement to assess the smoking intent of students on campus." Smoke (even smoking) (Maybe there may be a person, there is no one who does not say) "Students are planning to smoke on campus so" very likely "or "The possibility is high." The problem is to evaluate the student's support for outdoor smoking regulation, the problem is that the rule on outdoor smoking is a good thing.
Tobacco policy on campus and exposure to secondhand smoke, willingness to smoke on campus, and attitude towards outdoor smoking restrictions
