Evaluation and Diagnosis The purpose of this white paper is to provide an overview of the importance of assessment and diagnosis in the consultation process. In the first two sections, we explore the role of assessment and diagnosis related to case conceptualization and treatment planning. The potential impact of misdiagnosis will be the focus of the last section. In building a foundation for consulting intervention, assessment must understand the potential customer's history, personality, and current focus.
