James Sinclairs was born on 22nd January 1908 at Shelbrook in the northern part of Saskatchewan. He is considered one of Canada's finest literary artists. His first novel was titled "for me and my house." Before his parents divorced, Ross studied at the first grade of Wild Rose School. Due to family change, he graduated from the 11th grade high school and worked at the monastery of the Canadian federal bank in Saskatchewan Province.
