Aristophanes and Homoeroticism: Admiration or Scorn?

When reading Aristophanes' comedy, modern readers can fully understand gender norms and expectations of his time. The vision of powerful women, awkward women, clumsy foolish men penetrated into his play and revealed the recognition and stereotypes about the roles of ancient Greek men and women. But one of the more complex concepts of acquisition is the real feelings of Aristophanes for gays love and practice. The purpose of this paper is to compare Aristophanes' lesbianism acting at Thesmophoria with his speech at the Plato seminar and try to clarify the playwright's position on that subject.

The special relationship between Aristophanes and comedy is best explained in the original Greek comedy. The original Greek comedy 'Old comedy' was a unique fantasy, irony (literary contempt for human stupidity), noisy and obvious libido. Aristophanes used beautiful rhythm poetry as a form of all his comedy. He has a means to narrow self-importance of people involved in politics, social life and literature, but most importantly he used his infinite comedy invention and high spirit.

All childhood of Aristopanes is Athens, one of the two major political powers of Greece, the center of artistic and intellectual activity. Between the ages of 17 and 23, Aristophanes began submitting his comedy for the annual Athens contest. A good choice for his relaxed humor and speech laughed most people, and at least one politician took him to the courtroom. Whatever kind of punishment is adopted, it is mild that Aristophanes can continue his clever remarks at the price of his next comedy leader.

The writer feels pain at the farm where he lost his family and justly blames the ruling party class. Aristophans believe abuse of ordinary people and ignorance that the ruling class seems to admire is a fundamental problem of Athens democracy. Even though he was more euphemic about the way he proposed such a government, Thucydides also made similar criticisms against his government. His history is not exaggerated nor exaggerated. This is the strategy adopted by Aristophanes. And Thucydides seriously explained what he truly believed. No one will mention the gods, they sometimes play a role in the role.
