The history of online fans is the history of the platform from the Usenet list to the Yahoo group, LiveJournal to Tumblr, and our own archives. Over the years, with business pressure, censorship, and a quirk of legal threats, the relationship between fans and these platforms is, at best, negligible. Archive of Our Own (AO3) is a nonprofit open source repository (fic) provided by users. This site was created by Change Work Organization in 2008 and entered the public beta phase in 2009. As of 2017, our own archive hosted more than 3 million works with more than 24,600 fandom. The design of curators, organizations and websites of the site is mainly welcomed by readers and authors. In 2007, a website called FanLib was created with the aim of profiting from the novel. Fanfiction was written primarily by women, and FanLib was hosted entirely by men. And it led to criticism and it led to the establishment of a nonprofit organization change organization (OTW) that ultimately attempts to document and archive fan culture and works. OTW created Archive of Our Own (abbreviated name AO 3) in October 2008 and established it as a public beta on November 14, 2009.
