Architects as Managers of Change in Croatia

The social change of the architect as administrator of change in Croatia is a transition from one system to another. On the global scale, the disappearance of the central government, universal doctrine, and basic ethics changed the modernist paradigm to postmodern. The postmodern world brings about fragmentation, instability, uncertainty and anxiety. The architectural response to these conditions is an attempt by postmodern discourse "semantic nightmare" or "modern project".

A few years ago I met software architect and said his career has changed dramatically from academia to becoming a project manager for large enterprises in the software industry. When the "project manager" came out of his mouth, we all started to laugh. That is because it was obvious that this type of character is not suitable for him. He was finally a software architect after being diligent and not at all satisfied with PM for several years. With this new role, he was really excited and found a more natural work match.

Stefan Mordue is Charter Door Kitt, Construction Project Manager, National Building Code (NBS) consultant and writer. He is passionate about the transformation of the construction industry. He is a coauthor of many publications including BIM for construction safety and health and BIM for dummies. Stefan is a member of the team that creates a joint project of the National Bureau of Statistics and the UK Government Building Information Model (BIM) Task Force and creates a BIM toolkit for government BIM missions. He is a founding member of the CIC BIM 2050 working group.

Flexibility - Architects often lack a global perspective. Many American architects are working on projects overseas, but many of them do not reflect the big difference between the pace of change in other countries of the world and the change in our view in the US . In other places, cities or parts of cities will appear or disappear within one or two years. In Shanghai and Beijing, there is a generation of super-young architects who have had many years of experience in one year than most American architects have acquired in 10 years. Currently, there are 15 metropolitan areas in the world, and the population exceeds 20 million people. Each of these cities has a wonderful business district, but most of the population lives in poor communities.
