Ozick gave us the embarrassment of a woman at her book "Ruth Puttermesser" who served as a busy feminist lawyer in New York in the mid-20th century. Puttermesser needed a helper (real wife) and when she slept at night she made a squat from the floor of the apartment pot. This creature became very powerful, so Puttermesser can become a mayor. She sweeps out the city with cockroaches, but like a well - written automaton 's story, creatures gain dangerous independence. Gross attracts a lot of important texts about the incredible world of the inanimate world such as Walter Benjamin, Marina Warner, Sigmund Freud (ETA Hoffmann's Sandman), Heinrich von Krest. The alarming situation of the latter "puppet show" shows that the experience of dolls is better than the life of men.
