Appreciating a Gothic Cathedral: Milan Cathedral

Throughout the world, people still appreciate the beauty of the European cathedral. Many of the cathedrals are fragile due to age, neglect, pollution, and lack of sufficient funds to restore these historic and beautiful buildings. However, visitors to masterpieces of these architectures are fascinated by the design and structure of these churches. Cathedral builders use their own ingenuity, expertise, and limited resources to violate the law of gravity and time. (Icher 30) There are two main building types in the Middle Ages: Rome and Gothic.

Milan Cathedral is a very large and sophisticated Gothic Cathedral in Milan's main square, one of Europe's most famous buildings. It is one of the largest Gothic style churches in the world. The building began in 1386 and was led by the archbishop Antonio da Saluzzo, but the late Gothic style is characteristic of the French style rather than the Italian style. It took me five centuries to complete the famous cathedral. The medieval Seville Cathedral was built on the ruins of the magnificent Almohad Mosque, showing off the power and wealth of the city after the Reconquista. When it was built in the 16th century, it replaced the Hagia Sophia and became the world's largest church. It is still the world's largest gothic cathedral and the third cathedral. Construction workers used the pillars and elements of the mosque, in particular the minarets remodeled to Girarda and Clock Tower.

Milan Cathedral (Milan Cathedral) is a Gothic cathedral completed in the 6th century. This is Italy's largest church. Stefano proposed to inspect the roof and it felt like an "open air museum".
