When choosing a "famous" person to do my research project, I decided to become my favorite president of my time. George W. Bush seems to be the most "real" president we have served since the 1990s. Next, due to the fact that theorists are closest to Bush 's life, I chose to apply Adler' s theory to Bush. Start with the background by George W. Bush and apply Adler's theory. George W Bush was born July 6, 1946. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and my father studied at Yale University.
In 1912, Alfred Adler established the association of individual psychology. Adler's theory thinks that everyone has inferiority complex. Since childhood, people have tried to overcome this inferiority complex by asserting their superiority. Adler called it "pursuit of superiority" and believed that this driving force was the driving force behind human behavior, emotions, and thinking. While Adler converted to Christianity, his Jewish tradition led the Nazis to close his clinic in the 1930s. As a result, Adler moved to the United States and served as a professor at Long Island Medical College. In 1937, Adler conducted a lecture tour and caused a fatal heart attack in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Alfred Adler called his character theory "personal psychology." Because he believed in the individuality of each individual (Schults & Schults, 2006). In addition, Adler believes that birth order plays an important role in creating our unique lifestyle and personality (Schults & Schults, 2006). Based on his theory, much research has been done to investigate the multiple effects of birth rank on personality (Salmon, 2007). In 'Birth order', Sulloway (2007) discusses the relationship between birth order and personality. Using the five models, human behavior and personality can be classified according to five factors: responsibility, comfort, extroversion, openness to experience and neurotic factors. According to Sulloway, my parents often think their eldest son has their role. In addition, the first child is more responsible than the brothers and sisters, more trained, organized, dominant and confident.
The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the basic theory established by Sigmund Freud and Alfred Adler. The theoretical research fields they established were personality and mental health. Sigmund Freud established the stage of personality and human thought. Alfred Adler studied all that person. Although their theories are completely different, their main confrontation lies in the influence of sexual desire in human thought. Two names that are famous and respected in psychology today are Sigmund Freud and Alfred Adler. As a psychologist studying human minds, their theory is very different. Freud initially believed that human instincts were mostly sexual, and many of the problems they encountered were related to some conflicts based on sex.
