Appleton discusses supporting push to legalize medical marijuana in Wisconsin

APPLETON - The city may be working hard to support efforts to legalize medical marijuana in the country

An information conference on resolutions by Alderwomen Christine Williams and Patti Coenen on the support of state law to legalize cannabis for medical purposes was held by the Health Committee on Wednesday

"According to the decision of Outagamie County, I asked the state to legalize marijuana for medical reasons," Williams told the executive board.

In the November elections, 16 Wisconsin state voters can find a referendum seeking opinions on various areas of legalization of marijuana, from personal use to medical use, narcotics non-criminalization.

Outagamie County has not reached the deadline to hold a referendum this autumn, but the county will start negotiations and possibly hold a referendum in the spring centered on medicinal hemp.

City Health Officer Kurt Eggebrecht stated that it is important to provide research on drugs to the Board and to understand the role of hemp for medical assistance.

"Of course there are groups doing this to use drug excitement and stimulation, but the majority of people already use this medical marijuana.Street marijuana is used for this purpose.

Although no action was taken at this meeting, Coenen said she was convinced that the city would be involved.

"If people read, do research, I think that the positive factor is far greater than the negative factor that approves this," Coenen told the United States. TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin

"For this purpose we know that people are actually moving to a legitimate state of using medical marijuana for children and other chronic diseases," Eggebrecht says.

Currently, the use of statutory cannabis is permitted in nine states and the District of Columbia. The use of medical marijuana is legal in 31 states and Washington, DC

However, Christian abstentionists are not entertainment purposes, but accept drugs as a necessity for medicine.
