Indirect quotation. Interpretation text and page numbers do not need quotes. Example: In the case of Susie Giulie Phipps, "low race is formed" means that the low blood concept is described in an example (Omi & Winant, 1986)

Direct reference. Quotes and quotes are required before and after the page number. Example: Omi and (1986) Winant pointed out that "Race is certainly a very important social and historical concept" (p 21).
