In his book "Trouble and Normal", Michael Warner said "American culture has thousands of ways for people to manage the sex of others", some kind of coordination, and indirectly By accepting a group of identity or taste, as if it should be universally shared or so. "(Warner 1). Shame of" commonly shared "" taste ". This "taste" "should be shared" means that it is not universal.
In my first post, I analyzed the symbolic meaning of Brokeback Mountain of Annie Proulx. As I showed in this paper, the Brokeback Mountain is absolutely full of symbols, but it also provides comments about what human beings need to see to destroy things. "Broken Mountain" is a story of two homosexual cowboys from Wyoming state, can not live a happy life due to prejudice against homosexuals in the Midwest. Actually, prejudice is so big that there are two men who are murdered to be homosexual. When reading this article, you can feel that hatred is burning inside the murderer just as you wait for the flame of the explosion. You can feel that they need to destroy the happiness of other people.
Annie Proulx believes that "Brokeback Mountain" reminds me, "Remember, sometimes love is strong and permanent, there is a possibility that everyone can happen" (Cohen). When the Proulx story turned into a feature film, the script was written by L ARRY MCMURTRY and Diana Ossana, and won three Oscars in 2005: Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain is a tragic story about taboo love. It recorded the romance between Ennis del Mar and Jack Twist, and the two cowboys killed each other in the spring of 1963. Their relationship lasted twenty years, never being fully settled nor completely abandoned, always being afraid, confused, and most importantly being surrounded by love. "Brokeback Mountain" represents a story that draws a strange story in the context of the story and relates it to today's strange and homosexuality. Then, when it came to a movie, it broke through more obstacles and further promoted the social impact on Hollywood and society.
