In "Brier Rose", Ansexton uses a classical fairy tale to tell her about her childhood experience of sexual abuse. Instead of merely telling the story, she made a new adaptation and turned it into a well-designed metaphor: Sexton is Brier Rose in her own story. Sexton used well-designed text to draw her own struggle to expose Briar Rose and sexual abuse victims, rather than seeking help to appeal to consciousness. She also uses her adaptation of the story to deal with how culture is seeing sexual violence (in particular incest), marriage, and sex.
When Anne Sexton told us about her version of Briar Rose she quickly began to let the reader know how Briar Rose's sleep is. She talked to us about Briar Rose's feelings and introduced the introduction of Briar Rose's method to the reader. After the psychedelic part of the girl, Briar Rose continued to "fall into the state of a hypnotist" (lines 4-6) and Sexton started talking about the story. When Sexton enters the story, most lines contain a real summary of the fairy tale. But Sikeston added some sections to help the reader understand the story from Sexton's point of view; "The king looks like Munk's" scream "(line 43)
On line 120, Anne Sexton completely replaced Briar Rose. She is using me instead of Briar Rose. Now, she applied the modern technology perfectly and said, "I was all attacked by Novocaine." She obviously puts herself in a novel and tells the reader about her life. She replaced the happy part of the poem with the part that might be different from her life. "Daddy? It's another kind of prison, not that her father abuses her and does not indicate that she may limit her lifestyle. When she also gets Bill Rose 15 years old Her fear and insomnia's life has almost been reborn, or her terrible existence is "life after death" (line 161), revealing that she slept 100 years after becoming a member.
I think in many of these poems, Sexton talks about her personal ordeal and tribulation, either directly or indirectly, or it is beyond it. This was not so obvious in her Sleeping Beauty Briar Rose version. At the beginning of this special verse, many others used their seemingly rhythmic lines to force readers into the world described by Sikeston, but then a disturbing line drew my attention And Cinderella There are many reasons for poetry that draws my attention. First of all, I think that the way to use Sexton's classic story is wonderful, but as there are a lot of things about our current culture, readers will read more about placing readers in the right frame, more can do. By speaking about Irish sweepstakes, babysitters, milk guys, maids, rags to wealth, or other versions
