Town of Ann Petrie In our society today there are many images depicting black maternity, marriage, and black family problems through media and personal experience. No matter where you turn, there are black women in the project. There are few images of successful black women. Even if these positive images are drawn, it almost certainly shows certain disadvantages of black women in some way. Women, especially black women, are placed in a society that alienates and dominates many aspects of the lives of black women.

Petry, Ann (Ann Lane Petry, Arnold Petry) (1908 - 1997) Novelist, short story writer, children's novelist published in 1946, The Street of Ann Petry sold over 1 million copies, I am the first African-American woman. It is a novel. Let's be a best seller. Petri 's books including novels, short stories, children' s novels, and biographies reveal her concerns about the challenges that African Americans face in a biased society. She is particularly concerned about women facing racial discrimination and gender discrimination. Ann Lane Petry was born in Ann Lane (called 1911) on 12th October 1908 and is the second daughter of Peter Lane and Bertha James Lane of Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Her father owns a pharmacy and plays a role as a pharmacist.

This street is the story of a young black mother, Lutie Johnson. Harlem, who struggled in the 1940s, raised his son. According to Rutier's attempt to guide poverty, gender discrimination, violence and racial discrimination in the United States, this novel confronts the reader with important issues concerning individual choice and social responsibility.
