Andrew Johnson

Andrew Johnson was not chosen to fill the Lincoln, he was elected just as his vice president. After assassination, he was in a very difficult situation. Rebuilding America after the civil war will be a heavy burden for him. He has some compliance from the country he left and plans to unite the whole country before the civil war. He was put in his uncomfortable position and was not prepared for them during his presidential election. To be honest, he just chose to win the Democratic Party which kept the balance of the North and the South and supported the war.

Andrew Johnson was born on 29th December 1808 in a log cabin in Raleigh, North Carolina. His father, Jacob Johnson, died when Andrew was 3 years old, and forced the family into poverty. His mother Mary "Poly" McDonough Johnson served as a tailor to earn a living. She and her second husband, Andrew, and his brother William, a local tailor. When young, Andrew felt the resentment of the first class against prejudice and formed a white supremacist attitude to make up for it.
