My first semester of PASA 's second year was an exciting experience! I am studying two very different courses applying national journalism and career counseling, but I enjoy the practical application of these two courses. Yesterday, I had a wonderful experience at the Ethno course. We are reading various types of literature to further understand the concept of qualitative research and to gain the privilege of meeting with one of our readers, Miles Corwin. His work "And the rise of us: the trial and victory of 12 talented urban middle school students" tells the students and administrators of Kuren Show high school after high school graduation. Through this book, Cowen commented on the achievements of minority students in the South Central Region - something that has never been done before. This book is an impressive proof of courage and perseverance. I strongly recommend it. At the end of the interview, Corwin generously signed our books!

Miles · Kowin graduated from high school in 1996 - 97 grade. And they took part in a talented project in Los Angeles, one of the poorest and most critically influenced communities in the United States. In addition, our rise is an exciting chronicle of these crucial youngsters when they are facing the greatest challenges in academic life. When Toya was fifth grade, Toyota's stepfather narrowed down her mother. Olivia was a word in the county, when I was sixteen I lived in 10 different foster families. Sady, who grew up as a gang, saw his three brothers die, and many others go to jail. These stories are part of the daily lives of talented students at Crenshaw High School.

Toy, Olivia and Sadi Just then, 12-bit temporary young as yet we raised to 3. Miles Cowen, reporter writer of Killing Season and Los Angeles Times, studied in the classroom for a year with these children because of elite qualifications in terms of excellent IQ and standardized tests. It is an excellent course. Since one day they may go to college Corwin recorded their trip fighting for their own private war. When they studied William Shakespeare and James Joyce in the classroom, Cowen knew the bullet passed through the window and sat next to them. But for these students, the natural landscape is not their only battlefield: they are in trouble with political interaction, they face an uncertain future, profit from positive behavior. More importantly, the teacher they rely most on turns between motivating speech and the government's painful roar that she believes to be enemies.

But as Dr. Maya Angelow said once, it still rises (we). We transcend the everyday reality that leads to a concert by penetrating strong winds among our unbearable high rise apartments. We transcend delicate racial discrimination between cracks on sidewalks and hidden tasks of people employed by "service and protection". Nevertheless, we will continue to stand on those cards strategically accumulated in "possible small cities". We are more hungry than ever, and the music community is more familiar than ever. Rap concerts gather in several places where they are allowed to exchange numbers for future work and return home with friends while carrying the city. I celebrate the life of talent lost in the process like Redway and DJ Son of S.O.U.L. - We are already mourning for the people mentioned by the Drake press and for those unfamiliar with Toronto.
