As individuals get old, they face encounter and endure countless experiences, and ultimately they will find a comprehensive sense of security in their daily lives. When people do not turn their eyes on what is outside their comfort zone, they have no reason to think about how their life will differ if certain events did not occur. These are some of the ideas that come up when I prepare for this job. Through all of these, I was more fascinated by how different my life would be if I were still the only child in my family.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, nearly 80% of children in the United States are raised with at least one brother and sister. American children tend to grow up in families with brothers and sisters than they grow on their fathers. The quality of the Brotherhood can predict mental health later in life. Learning to overcome the conflict of brotherly love is an important aspect of social development. However, some brothers and sisters did not succeed at this stage. Competition among brothers and sisters arises from the evolutionary promotion of resources, especially concerns of parents. When the child's needs are not fully met, this driving force allows the child to cross the competition among ordinary brothers and sisters.
When a psychologist studies brothers and sisters, they usually emphasize the competition of brothers and sisters and the fact that brothers and sisters improve their social mobility skills, studying children. The adult brotherhood is only occasionally paid attention. But as an adult, we are confined to far more of our brothers and sisters than our children; indeed, our brothers and sisters relationship is the most permanent family relationship we have is. Jour Suitor and his colleagues at Purdue University investigated 274 families in 2009 and surveyed 708 adult children from 238 to 68 years old. Most people have good emotions against their siblings. Most of them do not remember many tastes when they are children, but those who feel they are not being loved by their brothers and being taken care of. It does not matter whether they feel they are preferred or unpopular. A simple view of custody is enough to weaken their relationship
The general assumption is that social exchanges with brothers and sisters prepare children for other social interactions in their lives. Therefore, children without brothers will get socially worse. But when the researchers saw the children, they did not find firm evidence that their social skills are worse than those of their brothers. why? As children actually learn bad social skills from their brother's interactions, as they actually learn positively.
