The 1933 Expo brought new hope and pride to American Chicago representatives. As Daniel Burnham establishes and protects the image of the United States through a fair and unique face, potential corruption and social pollution are hidden under the new artificial integrity of Chicago. Eric Klassen's "White City Devil" drew two totally different stories in the 19th century America and created a symbolic story about Chicago's early maturity. Beginning with the first impression, Burnham discovered that in Chicago there is an image of a dark factor alongside "a wonderful aroma of crushing near the Union Stock Terminal" (41).
The sociological aspect of Eric Larson's "devil of white city" and "devil of white city" is a mixture of two stories that are generally well integrated. Together these stories convey the true global meaning of good and evil themes. Good and evil can be seen throughout the novel, even in the most obvious places like titles. Good and evil, dark and light, they all represent the same thing. White is usually found to be pure and good. The author named the book "its devil of white city" by that author and he tried to tell the reader that the novel is about evil in truly pure places.
Written by Erik Larson, White City Devil is a true story based on the most important exhibitions in Chicago at the 1893 Columbia World Expo in Chicago. Erik Larson is also talking about mentally disabled people; Holmes uses his World Expo Hotel as an evil castle and is attracted to young women who visit trade fairs. At the beginning of the story, Larson stated that Chicago won the vote of Congress, hosted the World Expo, and beat its rival New York City. In only two years, Shiro castle was built. White City Devil: Eric Larson's article in the White City devil, many inexperienced women come to find new opportunities and successful work in Chicago. These women are single, and because they have not had experience in the city before, they are not subject to the sneaky plan of Dr. Holme. With his charm and peace of presence, Dr. Holmes can immediately appeal to these women. In the meantime most women are protected and growing up in a safe and familiar environment.
