Analysis of Community Land Trusts

Community Land Trust A. Community Land Trust Definition The Community Land Trust (CLT) is a shared ownership owned home ownership model that has the concept between the homeowner owned model and the leasedowned model. In the CLT model, after a community-based nonprofit company purchases land, lease land improvement to low-income households such as houses. The way the CLT is built allows low-income households to get limited equity return on investment.

Community development projects on private property (open space, private property of short-term lease, possibly the commons of short-term lease, etc.) are becoming increasingly active as trust in the community's land. Many community gardens in New York City were destroyed in the 1990s and protected by the community's Land Trust. This may pose some difficult questions at last for who has the right to rule the land. If the land trust is a larger non-profit organization with a large number of paid staff, it may still be disconnected from the creator of the project. Please do not be discouraged. There are many examples of grassroots land trust project that respects and implements participatory democracy.

First, I mobilized the regional land trust of the Appalachian community. Its main purpose is to spread information on the community's land trust to rural areas such as Clear Fork Valley. Eastern part of our country was developing the necessary coal, so this land was acquired in the late nineteenth century, so people do not have land there. This explains the ownership of a large number of absentees. Before asking if they were interested in organizing and serving as a member of the Board, I met with some locals. They said so, and in 1977 they offered 40 acres of land for sale, but they did not have the money to buy it. I found a local land trust fund and they know how to mobilize funds and find a legal committee. They purchased 40 acres of land for $ 20,000 and then negotiated with our community land trust company. It became a nonprofit organization and was named the Community Land Trust Association.
