An Exploration of the Way Shakespeare Presents Madness in Hamlet

Shakespeare presents a crazy way in "Hamlet" to explore whether Shakespeare intends to treat Hamlet and Ophelia as crazy. This problem confused English literary critics over 400 years. The insanity of each character ended in tragedy. Throughout the play, Hamlet showed many features that showed insanity. At the beginning of the script, Hamlet was visited by his father's ghost. Looking at the ghost may indicate that he is crazy. His father's ghost told him that he was murdered by Claudius, so that Hamlet wanted revenge. This led him to show unsteady behavior and showed that he was angry with retribution due to the death of his father.
