Alice Neil's Portrait Exhibition Alice Neil was one of the best painters of her generation and his family portrait was exhibited from 14th February to 29th March 1998. Exhibited at Norton Art Museum. The theme of critics and her paintings wrote Neil 's ability to portray the dynamics of interpersonal relations. Relationships are focused on specific familial relationships, ie brothers, families, parents and children, and members of her own family. The exhibition is organized by the Tacoma Museum of Art and hosted by Elizabeth Norton Association.
Priscilla Johnson's picture of Alice Neil is a contemporary canvas. This picture was created in my opinion and shows some of the emotions that Alice Neill might have at that time. The picture "girl sitting" is very similar to Priscilla Johnson. Both are contemporary art, women of the same age. It seems that every woman is sitting and waiting for someone else. Each picture conveys a story about a young woman.

I remember seeing Lucian Freud's work after seeing Alice Neil's picture for the first time in high school. And I was inspired by these strong opposition psychology. The audience looking at Alice Neil's audience ("Mother and child, Nancy and Olivia") seems to be cautious as well as exposed. Collisions there are remarkable. Then Lucien Freud's work ("Great Interior Paddington") is full of strange libido. I felt they were attractive and uneasy. At college, I started paying attention to Edward Hopper and his room scene. The composition around the interior seems to appeal to me, all their static vertical and horizontal directions, the flatness of the area you see in the picture of the hopper. After that, I was introduced to Vermeer by Professor Steve Sherman of the Department of Art Design at Moore.
