An Argument For Gun Control

Since the 1960 's, gun control has been discussed by Americans (Dolan 1). The debate questioned the rights of Americans with weapons including pistols, shotguns, and rifles. Some people say that simple restrictions on these weapons are in order, but others believe that these weapons should be completely banned (Dolan 1). Both sides have a strong opinion and often cause conflicts and confusion among American citizens. But the opponents agree that the annual mortality rate of 30 million people is too high due to strong and deadly weapons; they have different views on how to reduce this ratio.

Discussion on gun control responds to the development of discussions on gun control corresponding to increased violence and use of weapons and firearms. This has led to the expansion of gun control initiatives and has influenced public opinion, especially in promoting strengthening of prohibition regulations. For this reason it is controversial as it divides citizen's opinions, especially their position to advance different goals. The process of developing gun control is still harmful as it may challenge the rights and freedom of individuals and possibly damage the value of firearms to promote deterrence and self-defense.

Controversy over gun control against gun control As early as 1789, creators of the Constitution recognized the importance of guns in American society. Article 2 of the amendment states that "Freely controlled security is necessary for free countries, people have the right to hold and carry weapons, and should not be violated."
