An Analysis of The Wish

In "The Wish", the lecturer will explore the relationship with his father. As everyone knows, some fathers and sons have a good relationship, they are playing baseball, fishing, doing housework. On the other hand, some fathers and sons are completely opposed and can not last long. "Wishes" represents the latter of the two relationships. The speaker wants to know that 'sometimes the life you want will run to your left in parallel with your own life.' (Ll 3-5) I never see a parallel line.
