In the battle between science and religion, it is difficult to imagine the times when public opinion is not separated by struggle for superiority. It is not unusual to try to find a prudent balance with maintaining moral belief in most people's lives, rather than not knowing the latest scientific theory. It is easy to understand why many people are liberated from intense warfare on this issue and are neutral. It seems unlikely, but the controversy has been on for a while.
μfrict-static represents the coefficient of static friction between two surfaces. Like the coefficient of sliding friction, this element depends on the type of surface you are moving with respect to each other. Typically the value of the coefficient of static friction is greater than the value of the coefficient of sliding friction of the same two surfaces. Therefore, once the object starts to move, more force is usually required to move the object.
This table shows the static friction coefficient (μ (s)) and dynamic friction coefficient (μ (k)) between various surfaces. The coefficient of friction indicates that an object can slide easily to other objects. These coefficients are estimates of combinations of each face. Accurate measurements of the coefficient of friction are very sensitive to surface conditions and are determined empirically. Every surface is rough on a microscopic level even on a smooth surface. Looking at the picture of the graphite crystal enlarged with the scanning tunneling microscope, there are atomic level surface irregularities in the crystal. When two surfaces come into contact, the high point of each surface comes into contact and temporarily adheres. This is the origin of friction. The details of this process are still unknown, the subject of physics and engineering research.
By the Greek letter mu (μ), any two types of surfaces in contact with each other are constant and provide a means of comparing the friction between them to the friction between other surfaces. For example, the coefficient of static friction of wood against wood is 0.5, but 0.03 for lubrication between metals. Rubber tires on dry concrete have the highest coefficient of static friction of 0, which is desirable in this particular case. For the second type of friction, sliding friction, the frictional resistance the body receives during exercise, the factor is much lower. The initial person measured the relative resistance to move some objects, but the sliding friction coefficients show that they move relative to these objects as they move.
