In this paper, I will introduce the results of research that examined how current social work education council and leader of national social worker association think leadership in social work. A random sample survey of 75 dean heads, 75 managing directors, 75 managing directors and principals participated in a telephone survey using eight free response questionnaires. The findings define leadership in the occupation of social work and explain social work leadership as being different from other occupations. Participants identified the basic skills of social work leaders and clarified the mission of social work leaders in the 21st century.
